The CBOE ^OIX is an index of 10 companies in the oil industry, not the price of oil, accordig to the CBOE website. Yahoo! pulls up the USO quote anytime there's a news story about the price of oil, however, this is also a bad proxy for the price of oil since USO is an ETF of oil futures. So, in short, no.Oil prices?
It's been years since I watched that commodity, but I seem to remember the symbol for the oil index is OIX. You can't BUY it, however.
