First of all, spot oil prices last week were about twice what they were at the beginning of the year. Secondly, gasoline, being a manufactured product, does not vary in lockstep with changes in raw material prices. Do you think the price of ice cream fluctuates every day to the spot fluid milk price? Got a few billion? Start an oil refinery. Good luck getting through all the government approvals you need.If oil prices are dropping then why tha hell am I still paying over 2.50 a gallon? Makes no sense......?
Makes no sense to me either but as I understand it the taxes went up and so did the transport fees we have to pay to get the stuff to the refinery. Since it is also the summer, the refinery must put in that additive that the guv'mint requires for pollution control this time of year.If oil prices are dropping then why tha hell am I still paying over 2.50 a gallon? Makes no sense......?
Supply and demand; there's more demand in the summer, especially around holidays.
because oil companies are greedy-*** republicans
God knows
