Oil prices drop, gas prices go up in USA and why, who gets the money?

Gas prices has very little to do with the price of oil. Or at least that is what I am told. Gas prices revolve around refinery output. As the demand for gas goes up so does the price because there has not been a new refinery built in over 30 years. Our population is going up and hte demand fore gas also goes up but the amount of gas that the refineries put out has not gone up. If Congress would allow the oil comapnies to build 2 new refineries the price of gas will go back to $1.50.Oil prices drop, gas prices go up in USA and why, who gets the money?
Oil companies are making profits due to the volume sold. The government is making even bigger profits of their taxes. Do you honestly think Democrats are going to stop this?Oil prices drop, gas prices go up in USA and why, who gets the money?

bush and his buddies that own oil company. but dont let that distract you from the need for the US to be in Iraq. Its not bad enough the American economy is going down the toilet, we need to ensure the middle east is a mess as well.
quit your whining, in Holland it cost over $8 a gallon. Ride a bike if you are so inclined. The government makes a mint from taxes and the oil companies make even more.
It is much more complicated than that. It has to do with refineries switching over to summer fuels, the Dems not letting new refineries to be built in over 30 years and the speculators on Wall Street.
Because it's summer now,and the oil companies all had to switch production to a summer, more earth friendly blend of gas. We have over 30 blends of gas in America because of enviromental regulations that have to be changed in different weather seasons depending where you live. In my state we have 3 different blands per year. Spring/Fall blend Summer blend,and Winter blend. We are the only country in the world that has all these blends with Canda I believe having 4 different blends. That is the price we pay in America for being enviromentally friendly
Oil companies, EXXON MOBILE reported a 9.3 billon dollar profit in the 1st quarter of 2007. $9,300,000,000 in three months! WOW!
