The Great Depression is coming back again.Oil and gas prices soar,Forclosures, layoffs etc.. What can we do?

Grow your own Veggies with a greenhouse because the cost of shipping and buying them at stores will make them very very expensive. You just have to be self reliant and grow your own food and teach yourself to do things rather than being told what to do. Only Buy locally grown produce if you buy anything and support your local growers as it is good for your community and help it grow and become self reliant as a group. Living in a big city will be a disaster with out of control crime, pollution due to no garbage pickup and sewage backups.

The smart will survive and the not so smart won't. If a true depression breaks out you'll need a skill to barter and trade like in the old days or in poor countries. The Great Depression is coming back again.Oil and gas prices soar,Forclosures, layoffs etc.. What can we do?
aorton27 is smart. I've started collecting packets of vegetable seeds both to plant and store for next year. Non-hybrid. My garden is going great and I'm getting my first crop already. Also bought a dehydrator, a canner/double boiler, lots of mason jars, some canning books, charcoal, a dutch oven, and many other things one would need if the power grid went down suddenly. I also am able to store rainwater and bought a good water filter if the lake was my secondary source of water.

There are common sense things to stock up on when at sale prices like toiletries, first aid items, etc.

Store rice and pasta in mason jars and they will last longer and not get the little bugs.

Google or Yahoo ';survival'; for lots of good sites with good tips.

No matter if you live in an apartment, condo, house, or rural home with land, you can survive if we use the common sense and wisdom the Lord gave us. We will survive. The Great Depression is coming back again.Oil and gas prices soar,Forclosures, layoffs etc.. What can we do?
Email your Congressman that tell them to stop trading oil on the public market. Speculating was a major cause of the great depression. People are making billions off of oil and they do not drill it, ship it, or refine it into gasoline. They just profit off of it. Example today, Morgan Stanley said that oil would be $150 ber barrel in July and instantly it shot up $10 per barrel.
I agree with the other answers.Start right now to cut your standard of living. The worse thing that is happening is job loss,no matter how you manage things without your job you can not make it.The gas prices are only the beginning and I think it will get worse before it gets better.Hopefully it won't be a depression.
I truly believe we lost our chance when we allowed Clinton to be systematically bruised and Obama to win the democratic nomination. She would have done wonders for our economy. She had the right ideas. She was not raised priviledged and has worked since she was 16 with the poor and starving in her country.
Buy smaller cars. Drive LESS. Stop putting purchases on Credit Cards (pay in CASH). Live within our MEANS. Eat at HOME more often. And SAVE every nickel we can- towards the Day when we can BUY outright- the house we can Afford. If we DON'T do these things, we certainly WILL fall into a Depression...-%26amp; right SOON... :0
I'm not sure. Another thing that I'm also starting to notice is the widening gap between the have's and the have not's in this country. It really worries me.
For gas prices, if where your trying to get isn't too far away you can ride a bike. I think only accesory prices on bikes are going up.
