to the current levels? or/If President Bush had not gone into Iraq to liberate the Iraq,s do you think oil prices would not have gone up
The increase in demand , largely due to Chinese and Indian Industrial progress ,explains a significant portion of the rise. However it is impossible to calculate how much the fear of instability in the world oil supply due to US intervention effects the current price. Either way
3rd Party in 08 !If President Bush had not gone into Iraq to liberate the Iraq,s do you think oil prices would not have gone up
The big 5 oil companies have you brainwashed into thinking we have a shortage of OIL. There is no shortage of oil.
There is a shortage of refined oil. The oil companies cause an artificial shortage to keep the prices high, by not running the refineries. There are 2 refineries in Washington State they close for maintenance every summer or run at 60% to 80% of the time. The big 5 oil companies manipulate the flow of gasoline, to keep the prices high... to keep their profits up.
They would have gone up anyway because the reason for them going up has nothing to do with the war. The reason they went up is simple economics and the law of supply and demand.
The cause of the increase in oil prices is because the economies of India and China are booming which means that they are using more oil yet the production of oil has not gone up. The law of supply and demand states that when the demand for a product goes up but the productions doesn't then the price will increase.
I do not think that the price of oil would have risen like this. I'd expect some rise due to the increased supply-demand, but I do not think that it would have risen like that. Add to that that the Iranian foreign minister has stated that oil will go up to 300 bucks/barrel if Israel attacks them, then you know that this is a manipulation of price.....not an increase solely because of supply-demand issues.......
Yes- the war has nothing to do with China and India's booming economies. We are not the only country buying oil, we have some major competition for what they are pumping out of the ground in the middle east. The war has freed up more oil now that Iraq is putting out, the more the pump the more we'll use.
Hard to say, but probably not. China and India are consuming more oil and that is because we are shipping all out jobs to those countries, increasing their wealth. If, instead, we kept jobs in our country, instead of exporting them, I think oil prices would not have risen as fast as they are right now.
oil prices have driven up very sharply because it is an election year, and high prices will hurt the republicans,so the ultra rich ,ultra liberal people are manipulating the market to cause an over inflated price on oil.after the election oil will drop sharply
No. Two of the biggest factors to the price of oil right now are the devaluation of the dollar, which was caused by the rapid increase of our national debt largely becasue of the Iraq war, and the destabilization of the middle east.
Haha! They went in to liberate Iraq!? Wow, that isn't how I remember it! I wonder if this is what you'll tell your children? ';You see we went in to ';liberate'; Iraq...'course, nobody knew that at the time...';
When did Bush say America went to Iraq to Liberate the Iraqi people? before or after the invasion?
no effect
the war has been going on for over 3 years
it's just the pension fund managers %26amp; traders moving the $ into oil futures from the failed housing market
hugs!
I think oil prices would have gone up sharply, regardless of Iraq. The price is being driven more by an increased demand than a lack of supply.
Oil prices would have still gone up, because even if you didn't have the war, you would still have two oil men in the White House.
They wouldn't have gone up as much. Part of the reason for current oil prices is the US debt that has contributed to a falling dollar.
They have not been liberated - they have been ethnically cleansed.
totally. The Iraqi invasion destabilized an already shaky region and since that's where all the oil is..........
No.
Remember?????
Democrats complaining that Gas Prices were Too LOW, because of all the FREE OIL that we are getting from Iraq.
i disagree with the premise of your question. prices would probably be lower if the middle east wasn't in turmoil.
uh...when did we go to war to liberate Iraq? Isn't a little too soon to revise history?
Big messes create other problems - yes
