Why are gas prices going up? I thought Obama was going to protect us from oil companies?

Now that Bush is out of office, we shouldn't have any more hurricanes. When Bush left office, gas prices were well under $2. Now they are rocketing back up towards $3!! WTF Obama? I thought you were on our side? Is Obama sucking up to big oil now too??Why are gas prices going up? I thought Obama was going to protect us from oil companies?
Due to worldwide recession the demand for oil was down, so OPEC cut production to get the prices up. So as supply gets lower, the demand increases and prices go up. If you think they are high now, wait until the Taliban take over Pakistan.Why are gas prices going up? I thought Obama was going to protect us from oil companies?

I heard O when he was running for office say that he didn't care if gas cost 15.00 a gallon. He intends to tax us into submission just like he is getting ready to tax every household in american 3,000.00 per year. about 260.00 per month per house. The executives in the front offices of big oil companies control the oil. It always goes up near Memorial Day weekend and into summer just to exploit travelers.





It's happened every year since the 50's. It's just ';free market'; business.
Hmm... Obama WANTS higher gas prices.... When gas was $4 a gallon, his comment? He was ';disappointed that it went up so quickly';...





And guess what.... he will ensure you are paying more for ALL energy with his idiotic cap and trade or carbon tax... Plan on electricity costs up 15 - 100%

Come on. Gas prices rise every year at this time in response to the upcoming travel season. How stupid to not get that people.
What would McCain have done differently? They are going up because we are approaching summer and the demand has traditionally been higher that time of year. We can barely refine the oil fast enough to keep up with that demand.
It's mostly a supply and demand type deal. Demand is rising while supply is diminishing. Wars and subsidies don't help either.

He said very clearly that he was going to tax the evil oil corporations and use the money for healthcare and welfare...problem is that oil companies aren't really inclined to let Obama take their profits so they just raise the prices.





It was simple economics then and it is simple economics now...but the class envy crowd could only think with their anger and hatred towards companies and businessmen who made it in the real world while they are left with vile hatred for the producers.





Obama said straight up that gasoline at $4.00 a gallon wasn't a problem...it wasn't too high of a price...it just went up too fast...so people noticed it...see you gotta cook a frog slowly so he doesn't even know you are cooking him...you gotta dial up the heat slowly..so by the time he is burning in boiling water...it's too late...he didn't even notice.





Oil is a very complex commodity...the oil companies pay millions in exploratory drilling and survey to locate decent pockets of oil in the earths crust...then they build massive drilling and pumping stations both on land and on massive structures that are built in the Ocean...then they pump the oil from the drilling point to huge refining plants that seperate oil, gas, diesel, asphalt and different other stages of petroleum...then they treat the gas and ship it to distribution centers every couple of blocks...all throughout the United States so our lazy asses can pull over at the next quick stop and put a few gallons in our tanks.





But for all the work they do...powering the entire nation...keeping the country moving....Obama would rather punish them for doing such a good job...he'd rather tax every single dollar of profit that they make to prove his point. We have a wealth of reserves that environmentlist lobbies won't allow us to touch...while Russia declared yesterday that it would not stop at military aggression to secure energy resources from it;s neighbors.





Russians are going to invade and kill Georgians and Ukranians for thier oil if they need to, but we aren't even allowed to touch the oil that we have because it might lead to another oil spill....like the one THIRTY YEARS AGO...that caused this whole environmentalist lunacy.





And that's from an ex-card carrying member of green peace...we are trapped in political correctness...environmentalists paying off legislators to deny access to reserves...and liberal leaders taxing the ddeath out of oil companies...probably until they become insolvent and Obama can buy into their market with some bail out money.





He almost has every major market in America under his thumb...we are becoming a socialist nation without even realizing it...our President is deciding what is going to happen with our Automobile industry..and he is leveraging his power in our financial system.....and people were worried he was a socialist...tisk tisk.
