With the rise in oil prices worldwide...and global warming...do u think it best to...??

Promoting the green design, construction, renovation and operation of buildings could cut North American carbon dioxide emissions more deeply, quickly and cheaply than any other available measure, according to a new report. Buildings are responsible for over one-third of continents carbon dioxide emissions. With the rise in oil prices worldwide...and global warming...do u think it best to...??
My wife and I just purchased a house 30 miles from her job. The bedroom community we're moving to sits just on the other side of the county line, in a much less ';progressive'; county than we currently live in. Less taxes, better schools, neighbors of better socio-/economic class...

The point is: NO ONE will be riding their bike 30 miles to work down the brand new expressway linking my new hometown to my old one. With a posted speed limit of 70 mph, anyone attempting to peddle a marathon to work and back would eventually become an unrecognizable smear on the shoulder.
In most cases you can ride on the shoulders of the highways. The only roads that you can;t ride bikes on is limited access roads, like freeways, and that will never happen.
They have bicycle lanes in my area, but there should be more because they are full and will be getting packed.
If you want to ride a bike, go ahead... but do it for your own health and pocketbook, not because of propaganda.
