Well it appears that reduced vehicle usage in the US has caused the price of oil to go down.
As for food, something we all need, the price of food is low and does not reflect the cost of production. Many small growers work long hours and make a low return, which often involves paying low wages to migrant workers. Mass production of food occasionally leads to the spread of pathogens. reduce consummation or increase production. an increase in oil production may not be possible as oil production has likely peaked. the amount of new oil fields brought online may not be able to make up for the decline in existing oil fields.What can we do to help reduce the prices of oil(petroleum) and food worldwide?

Petrol and food is inelasitic, so changes in supply/demand wont do much.
complaining will (hopefully) change political policy.
Either produce more of consume less .
